Five Hours of Open Sparring!
The day is an open hall for all fencers to partake in open practice against other fencers in the room, get your fights in and compete against your friends. Or, even better, make new friends and then fight them!
Instructor seminars and team games will feature within the day, but if these do not interest you, there will be room to continue sparring in the hall.
Guest Instructor – Erant Flitcroft – Beginnings of Dual Weapons
“The aim of this seminar is to introduce those new to two weapons and the possibilities available when using them as a pair rather than as separate weapons. For those experienced in techniques like rapier and dagger, I’m hoping to give a new perspective on ways to use these weapons to tackle mixed weapon sparring.
I’m a member of the order of the Blade and have been training a mixture of weapons, primarily short swords, daggers, and occasionally swords and shields, for 3 years. I got interested in dual weapons a year and a half ago after a Larp event. Since then, I’ve been developing a system that applies to all dual weapons, from dual swords to axes and daggers, dual daggers, whatever single-handers I can fit in each fit.”
Required Equipment: Two single hand weapons
