All of the shields we sell are hand-crafted and made in small batches by an artisan shield maker, who we work with to supply long-lasting shields for the primary purpose of Historical Fencing. While these shields are durable for the practice of Historical Fencing, they are not indestructible and will wear down over time. Excessive force against them will still cause damage. Approximate weight: 1.9kg

Materials: Plywood, treated and faced with calico, and painted with hardening enamel. The rim is a vulcanised rubber embedded with steel ribs, making them ideal for practice with both steel and synthetic weapons.

If you wish to paint over the shields, we recommend using enamel paints as this will harden and be less likely to crack under contact.

All shields are hand-made and have a two month lead time.
